gall bladder and bile duct

The gallbladder and bile ducts are essential components of the digestive system responsible for storing and delivering bile, a digestive fluid produced by the liver, to aid in the digestion and absorption of fats. Here’s an overview of their functions and common related issues:

Storage of Bile: The gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ located beneath the liver. Its primary function is to store bile produced by the liver until it is needed for digestion.

Bile Release: When you eat a meal containing fats, the gallbladder contracts and releases bile into the small intestine (specifically, the duodenum) through the common bile duct. Bile helps in breaking down dietary fats into smaller molecules, making them easier for the body to absorb.

Gallstones: One common problem associated with the gallbladder is the formation of gallstones. Gallstones are solid particles that can develop in the gallbladder and block the bile ducts, causing pain, inflammation, and sometimes infection.
